Shedd Aquarium
Role: Designer, Fabricator, Live Visual Note-Taker.
Live visual notes and fabrication were down in collaboration with other artists at Ink Factory. I led the overall design and build of the structure.
Client: Shedd Aquarium
Project: A standalone structure for engagement at the Shedd Aquarium’s annual fundraising gala. Audience members answered questions written on cards, and we illustrated their answers on the spot.
Process: Working with a project manager and fellow artist, we designed and fabricated a standalone structure inspired by lanterns hanging in the Shedd Aquarium. The design incorporated backlit “bubbles” and layers of foam board for a wave-like aesthetic. Along with a few other artists, we colored in the different blues. At the live event, we illustrated attendees’ answers on the board as they were given to us on cards.
